What: The City of Bayonne will dedicate its first new, freestanding fire house in several decades. The new, state-of-the-art Fire Department facility is the successor to three fire houses that have closed. Rescue Company #1 and Squad #5 will be housed in the new building, which has more than 10,000 sq. ft. of space.
When: Monday, November 17, at 10:30 a.m.
Who: Senator Robert Menendez, Congressman Albio Sires, and Congressman Donald Payne, Jr. will speak. Senator Cory Booker will be represented at the event. Mayor Jimmy Davis and Fire Chief Gregory Rogers will host the ceremony.
Where: 200 Chosin Few Way, the Peninsula at Bayonne Harbor (the former Military Ocean Terminal), Bayonne, NJ.
The new fire station is located just east of Route 440, near Goldsborough Drive. The site is across Route 440 from the back of the 34th Street Light Rail Station.
