According to inside sources at city hall, a nearly physical altercation broke out in front of the Mayor’s Office at city hall on Friday. Hudson’ County’s “Political Insider” Agustin Torres broke the story on Saturday in his weekly column in the Jersey Journal. Sources at city hall are mum on the events that played out on Friday and still haven’t returned Bayonne Local’s calls. According to witnesses, who chose to remain anonymous. The altercation took place outside the Mayor’s Office when an ex-city attorney was denied entry to see the Mayor. According to city sources, this attorney was heavily involved in Mayor Davis’ campaign for mayor, but other members of the mayors campaign (who now work in city hall) have been curtailing his efforts to meet with the mayor. Tempers flared as city officials tried to stop the attorney from entering the mayors office, and words nearly became punches according to one witness. Just as the situation was about to turn violent, the mayor emerged from his office and took the ex-city attorney outside to “calm him down.” This is a breaking story, as soon as more details of this event emerge Bayonne Local will update this story.
Parties involved were Joe DeMarco and Peter Cresci. Before Smith, Cresci had 4 jobs at city hall making over 250k+. I’m sure Davis offered him the same deal for the independent expenditure “NewsPaper” that was distributed throughout the campaign. Now DeMarco won’t deliver on the deal Cresci was promised. Cresci is mad because he dumped (Illegally) over 70K into the Davis campaign and it looks like the payback will be way under that. “
