The Bayonne City Council voted unanimously to appoint John Inglesino’s firm to lead city redevelopment efforts. Inglesino gained recent infamy after he represented 18 year old Rachel Canning in her fight to sue her parents for various reasons, including not paying for her car. Inglesino has also been criticized and had ethics complaints brought against him by the town of Parsippany. The town of Parsippany was billed in excess of 3 million dollars by Inglesino. The town council members claimed that Inglesino never explained why he billed the town so much
Rachel Canning’s parents claimed that Inglesino hosted “booze parties” for teens at his home and let underaged minors drink on other occasions. Also, Canning’s father claimed that Rachel drank her first drink in the Inglesino home. Inglesino is a former mayor and is extremely politically connected in the State of New Jersey. Inglesino raised $100k dollars for Governor Chris Christie in his bid for reelection and is considered one of New Jersey’s “most powerful” by NJBIZ Magazine and PolitickerNJ.
Ultimately the teen dropped the lawsuit and moved back in with her parents.
Inglesino, Wyciskala and Taylor LLC of Parsippany was awarded the city redevelopment contract last night in a unanimous vote. The mayors office informed us that no council members were present today for comment.
