The Free Public Library and Cultural Center of Bayonne is presenting free movies this summer. The movies are shown on Wednesdays through August 19, at 1:00 p.m., in the Mary E. O’Connor Gallery on the second floor of the library, at 31st Street and Avenue C.
The films to be shown include Academy Award winners and Oscar nominees, plus a selection of family-friendly films that are not just for kids. Children attending the family films must be accompanied by an adult. The films intended primarily for children will be shown July 29 through August 19. No children will be admitted for the adult selections. Two of the films are unrated, because they were produced before the modern rating system existed. Those films are High Society and The Manchurian Candidate, both of which feature Frank Sinatra in leading roles. The library is showing those two movies to honor the centennial of Sinatra’s birth in Hudson County in 1915.
