For many of us, parking isn’t exactly easy to find here in Bayonne. But one councilman has a solution for, well at least his own parking woes. About two weeks ago Bayonne Local started getting emails about Second Ward Councilman Sal Gullace and his disabled placard. Truthfully, this reporter didn’t think the emails were genuine, but all it took was one car ride to city hall to confirm the councilman’s use of this privilege.
Just to be safe, we checked up on the councilman’s truck on three different occasions, all three times the placard was hanging on his mirror. One time we even saw Mr. Gullace hop into his truck, after mowing the lawn at St. Henry’s Church. We decided to snap a photo. (Shown Above, with city hall gleaming in the background) The Mayor’s Office nor Mr. Gullace could be reached for comment. New Jersey State Law Prohibits misuse of disability placards and states that those whom violate the law are subject to fines and community service. Gullace owns and operates a construction business and a property maintenance business in town.
